During the operation of the separator, the separator drum is gradually filled with particles removed from wine or cider, and the drums need to be emptied at all times to ensure that the equipment is able to work properly and to ensure a higher product quality.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned continuous and stable operation state, a turbidity meter ITM-4 having a 4-beam patented technique was installed at the outlet of the separator to continuously monitor the turbidity of the product. When the turbidity increases beyond a certain limit, the connected control device automatically switches to the "clear roller". This limit can be set according to the actual application needs (wine is about 30-40NTU, cider is about 200-400NTU). And the turbidity measurement range can be switched by external control.

Turbidity measurement is an optical method for measuring the concentration of suspended solids and / or colloids in liquids. Measurements are made in the infrared region (860 nm) to avoid the color effect of the media. The associated ITM4 turbidity meter uses the scattering method and the transmission method.

In the sedimentation tank, organic matter and minerals are added to the newly fermented wines, the unwanted particles are bonded together and precipitated at the bottom. After clarification, the cooling residue in the wine is removed and sucked into the separator to remove unwanted particles. The ITM-4 is installed at the exit to reliably monitor the absolute purity of the wine before bottling.
